Itinerary Summary
- Day 1: We depart from Cusco at 5:20 am heading to the station of Poroy, we board our train to Aguas Calientes, when we arrive you will settle in your accommodation and you will have free time to visit Aguas Calientes.
- Day 2: Early in the morning you will depart by bus to Machupicchu Shrine in a 30-minute journey. Take a 2-hour guided tour then have free time to take extra photos. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes to board your return train to Poroy and then a bus to Cusco.
Difficulty
The difficulty is easy, due to the accessibility of Machu Picchu. The trip consists of types of transport Train and bus. On the first day, you will travel by train from Poroy for approximately 4 hours of travel, and the next day bus up and down to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Then return by train to Ollantaytambo for 2 hours and travel by bus for 2 hours to Cusco.
Itinerary
Around 05:20 am our transfer will pick you up from your accommodation to go to the train station of Cusco Get a bus to go to Poroy there you will get on the train that leaves at 06:40 am towards the town of Aguas Calientes which lasts an average of 3 hours and 30 minutes after arriving at the Aguas Calientes station, company staff will wait for you with your names and will ahead to your accommodation after making the check-in there you can looking for a good please to get a lunch and dinner. In the afternoon you will have free time to walk around or visit the hot springs of Aguas Calientes Town.
Early in the morning, our tour guide will pick you up from your accommodation and ahead to the bus station getting a bus ride to the citadel of Machu Picchu taking around 30 min. Approx. (A night before you will organize with our tour guide the best time to start your excursion to Machupicchu).
Before entering Machu Picchu you will meet with the rest of the group then you must show your documents to enter the citadel of Machu Picchu and start our tour visiting the most attractive places in the place, where it is one of the most renowned examples of engineering, architecture, assembly and carved in different streets, plazas, ceremonial fountains, and temples, surrounded by lush vegetation. The citadel is located on the top of the mountain at an altitude of 2490 meters.
From this point, you can see the mountains as are the HUAYNA PICCHU Mountain, MACHU PICCHU Mountain, PUTUKUSI Mountain, and INTIPUNKU all these mountains can be visited on foot.
After the tour, you will have on average a half hour to tour the Inca citadel on your own and take pictures finally you need to take a bus down to Aguas Calientes and the time to reach the town of Aguas Calientes you can find the best restaurant to enjoy lunch there.
Return from Machupicchu to Cusco
Please be sure to be at the train station in 20 min. before the departure of your train. Our train schedule is usually at 15:20 to Poroy Station, where you will catch our private transportation to back your accommodation in Cusco (At the time of your confirmation you will be given the exact time of your return).

At the time of booking confirmation and after paying your deposit will be sent the exact time of your train back, since we are subject to the availability of trains.

The Citadel of Machupicchu is different from Machupicchu Mountain, customers or people refer to Machu Picchu, and they are referring to the Citadel of Machupicchu. If you want to climb up Machupicchu or Huaynapicchu Mountain require a separate permit to climb. Please inform us if you are interested that we are going to book anyone for you. It must be done in advance and will increase your same entry to Machupicchu (an additional cost of $25 in your tour or package).
