We will visit the Temple of the Sun Qoricancha and four Inca ruins or archaeological centers located at the top of the City of Cusco; the visit to these tourist sites is 20 minutes each, after the service return to the City of Cusco and locate the place that seems appropriate for lunch.

Archaeological sites in this service.

Qoricancha is one of the most important religious centers of the empire of the Incas. Its stone constructions have an even greater perfection than Machu Picchu. It was covered with gold and plant until before the Spanish conquest which built there the Convent of Santo Domingo. It is located two blocks from the Plaza de Armas. It houses paintings made by the artists of the so-called “Cusco School” Both the Qoricancha and the Convent of Santo Domingo coexist harmoniously as a symbol of cultural syncretism.

Sacsayhuaman is the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman strategically built on a hill from where all of Cusco is appreciated. It is famous for its enormous carved stones, some of which are 9 meters or 30 feet high and weigh over 350 tons.

Qenqo is located four kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco and has the archaeological groups of Q’enqo Grande and Q´enqo Chico. Etymologically, it means labyrinth or zigzag, it fulfilled a purely religious function, being on the outside an amphitheater in a semicircular shape with trapezoidal niches and a monolith that simulates being a puma which measures approximately six meters.

Puka Pukara means “red fortress” because the limestone stones with which it is built have acquired the reddish coloration of the terrain, which is very abundant in iron. It is argued that it had the function of guarding Tambomachay, an important palace in the Inkario. But that in turn, due to its architectural layout and the existence of fountains, aqueducts, and multiple enclosures, was a “Tambo” that is, a collective hostel that offered inn and food to travelers, as well as the entourage that was to accompany the Inka in its retreat in Tambomachay.

Tambomachay is located about 8 km. To the north of Cusco and very close to the ruins of Puka Pukara, it is an archaeological site that was destined to worship water so that the head of the Inca Empire could rest. This place is also called Banos del Inca. It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals, and several waterfalls that run through the rocks. The surprising thing about this is that the Incas created 2 secondary waterfalls from a main waterfall, which are exactly the same. That is, if one places two empty bottles, one in each waterfall, the two are filled at the same time.

Finally, at the end of your service, you will return to the City of Cusco, where you can locate the best place to have lunch and then return to your accommodation to spend the night.

07:30 to 07:45 Pick up from your hotel and then go to make the excursion, in this tour, we can appreciate different villages that are located throughout the Sacred Valley of the Incas in addition to making some stops in places like Chincheros where we appreciate textile art and ceramics. Then, we will visit Urubamba to enjoy a typical lunch, later we visit the villages of Ollantaytambo and Pisaq where it has fantastic Andean landscapes, and their inhabitants, native to the Quechua ethnic group, preserve many customs and ancestral rites until now. The guided tour ends at 18.00 hours.

Tourist attractions you will visit

Pisac is a town located on the slopes of the hill Intihuatana (the place where the sun is tied) and has the best system of Andeneria worked by the Incas. Near the town is the Archaeological Park of Pisac, Inca archaeological sites, constructions in polished stones finally assembled, citadel, towers, military fortresses, astronomical observatory, etc. We observe the Inca cemetery, the largest in all of America. Pisac has located 32 km. (20 miles) from the city of Cusco, 2.972 m.a.s.l.

Urubamba is a place with Inca productions, the most primordial corn, and today a beautiful countryside, with great production of fruit trees. An excellent place to enjoy our typical lunch buffet in the area. In the end, we continue the trip to Ollantaytambo.

Ollantaytambo was a military fortress that protected this area of the valley, strategically located between two mountains. Currently, you can know this fortress, and also the rich deposits, formed by the temple to Inti (sun god), the baths of the Nustas (princesses), the Chullpas of Cachiccata, a group of terraces symmetrically staggered and very steep on the slope of a hill. The current town of Ollantaytambo has many houses built on the bases of the ancient Inca people, where natives of rooted ancestral customs live. Ollantaytambo has located 97 km. (60 miles) from Cusco, 2.846 m.a.s.l. (Train station to Machu Picchu).

Chinchero is a very traditional and typical place for crafts and colorful fabrics. The main attraction of the archaeological complex is the Sunday market that still performs barter where they make exchange products. Traditions since Inca times. Thanks to the studies carried out in the year sixty, it has been discovered that some walls belong to an Inca palace covered with earth by the Spaniards and finally, we return on our mobile to the imperial city of Cusco (07:00 pm).

04:30 to 04:45 Pick up from your accommodation to go with the transport to the town of Mollepata (two and a half hours of travel approximately), on whose route we will observe beautiful landscapes and crops of different products such as corn, avocado, and Zapallo among other products characteristic of this Valley. That is the Mountain of the 7 colors, having enough time to capture images and enjoy this wonder of nature, delight us with the magic that encircles the surrounding mountains as well as a veil of clouds and snowy peaks, then we will start our return through the same path being a much quieter and more leisurely walk, and where an enjoyable lunch prepared by our Andean Chef will await us we will share this beautiful experience with the rest of the group.
